Apathy as a Social Evil

Apparently the Roundtree Foundation is reclassifying it's Social Evils and political apathy gets a mention.

Cue this quote from Nick M in the Samizdata comments section

Political apathy? Now, that's priceless. A choice every 4 years between two dull Scots solicitors (one of whom I wouldn't trust with the conveyancing of a dog-house and the other one makes methusalah look like a member of a boy-band) and a clueless Tory suit full of bugger-all. Fuck me Julia, love, it's a wonder I'm not permanently priapic at the prospect.

Aha! I see that I managed to comment on the wrong post yesterday. For some reason, Blogger's comment system always seems to be a pain in the arse.

Anyway, I did comment in the foundation's poll, but I don't think that they would have liked my answer that the biggest social evil is the desire of the public to surrender their freedoms to the state.
