I can't believe that university administrations behave in such an irresponsible manner. There is little doubt in my mind that the content of his discussion (pro 2nd amendment) had as much to do with the firing as anything else.

That would seem likely. I can't help but feel that it was not having a discussion on the VT shootings that was the issue, but that having a discussion which fell outside of approved boundaries.
